Time Flies When You’re Eating Macaroons
Oh my Gosh! Time flies, right?
I can’t believe I let this get into such disrepair. Well, here are some updates for you.
Improper Insights: Still going strong, although I am three months behind (oops!). You can view all three episodes of that by going to MY YOUTUBE profile.
Second City: I did take two classes at Second City this last term – Acting and Improv I. It was a blast and I learned a lot. Unfortunately, I’m unable to continue at this time because of the lack of funds. Boy, when they start paying me to act silly, I’m sure going to appreciate it.
Stand-Up: I am no longer doing stand-up, at least at the moment. I may start again. I’ll keep you guys updated.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to say when you don’t really care?
Nighty-night eager beavers!
My first vlog + some updates
Updates:
Sorry for the long vacation I apparently took. I’m back and with a lot of news.
That Thing Where We Talk is no longer happening. My collegue and I had a little disagreement and are no longer working together.
I am doing stand-up (almost) every Wednesday at the Edge Comedy Club in Chicago, IL. If you’re in the area, you should check it out. Feel free to visit their website at [http://www.theedgecomedyclub.com/].
Let me know how you feel about the vlogs. I can do them or I can scrap them. Either way.
Thanks for checking in!
Lauren

Would you like to be a guest on our podcast?
Well you need to listen to the first episode before you contact me. Click this link to listen.
Still think you have what it takes to be a guest?
Well let’s do it!
We need people to offer to call in via Skype and talk to us! You have to have a good sense of humor and have something interesting to ask us or tell us. We might poke fun, but understand that it’s all with good intentions. We all have to share this planet and it’s a lot more tolerable if there’s humor involved.
Email me at lanienoir@yahoo.com and tell me what you’d like to call in and talk about. Then we’ll set up a time to record and you’ll offically be a guest on ‘That Thing Where We Talk’.
Oh, come on… you know you want to.
All my love,
Lauren xx
Where’s the Love?
I recently made an arrangement with the world of Twitter. I told them that if I got 150 followers, I would do whatever 150 dared me to do – within reason. 150 didn’t aim very high, but they did dare me to do something a tiny bit ridiculous.
I had to make a sign that said “Free Hugs” and hold it on a busy street, giving away free hugs. I went to downtown Chicago and did just that.

At first, I was just apprehensive about how the whole thing would pan out. I knew not very many people were going to take me up on the offer of free hugs. The world today is a pretty cold place to be in. People are too busy working for themselves in order to take a short moment to fullfil the wishes of anyone else. But there were some lovers amidst the rabble.

Overall, there were some amazingly nice people. One foreigner even offered to take my picture with my partner in crime, Amber.

I learned a bit about people today as well. There are a lot of people who just aren’t willing to look at you on the street. But there are people in the world who are willing to stop for a second, read your sign, and actually hug you. Even if they think you look like an idiot.

I should mention, I did vomit almost directly after this podcast. Lucky you didn’t have to hear it.
